One of the funnest ways to travel more local is to immerse yourself in various cultures around the world.  There are so many cultures around the world with exciting dances, surprising traditions, and entertaining festivals.  You can dance salsa in Colombia, celebrate New Years in Asia, attend Bavarian beer festivals in Lederhosen, and celebrate Christmas in Catalonia with a pooping log.  There’s so much out there, you just have to look for it.

Next time you are planning a trip, don’t just visit the famous buildings and museums.  Do your research!  Get off the beaten path and try and participate in some of these diverting local traditions.
